Сюжеты, вдохновленные документальными фильмами «Ваша королева основала свою колонию под гниющим бревном. Она толста и уязвима. Ее первые отпрыски должны работать быстро, чтобы колония смогла выжить. Поиск пищи — задача первостепенной важности для них. Вокруг ее достаточно. Но поблизости обитают и другие голодные создания. Нужно работать быстро и незаметно, чтобы их не тревожить».Рассказчик озвучивает ход сюжета в формате документального фильма про муравьев, объясняя, что происходит в самой колонии и в подлеске на поверхности.Миссии разделены на группы, которых в полной версии игры будет пять (на данный момент доступно четыре). Миссии каждой группы представлены в формате документальных фильмов о природе, сочетающем в себе научную достоверность и интересный геймплей. В каждой группе уровней вы можете управлять одним видом муравьев, каждый из которых имеет свои особенности и подходящий для него стиль игры. На уровнях представлены разные экосистемы, которые отражают естественные места обитания соответствующих видом муравьев. Бурые лесные муравьи Матка бурых лесных муравьев после спаривания зарылась в землю под бревном. После рождения ее первого расплода муравьи должны будут обеспечивать ее пищей, расширять гнездо и сражаться со смертоносными жуками и пауками, затаившимися поблизости. Рыжие лесные муравьи Королева рыжих лесных муравьев захватила гнездо муравьев другого вида, убив их королеву и заняв ее место. Благодаря близости пляжа колония может питаться дарами моря, но в прибрежной зоне бродит множество других голодных существ и муравьев из враждебных колоний. Листорезы Листорезы питаются исключительно грибами, которые они выращивают на удобрении из собранных листьев. Молодой колонии нужно добраться до близлежащих растений и собрать листву, отбиваясь от богомолов, стафилинов и набегов кочевых муравьев. Защитить колонию от врагов помогут огромные солдаты листорезов. Огненные муравьи Огненные муравьи пытаются построить империю и занять территории этого болота. Они могут создавать плоты из своих тел и по ним добираться до нерасхищенных ресурсов. Их ждет множество опасностей, таких как огромные амфибии и стрекозы, но огненные муравьи не просто так получили свое имя — их сильный яд полностью компенсирует их небольшие размеры.--- Режим свободной игры Режим свободной игры делает игру потенциально бесконечной и открывает игроку больше возможностей, чем уровни кампании. После прохождения кампании вы можете продолжить игру со своей улучшенной колонией. Можно открыть больше существ и колоний для свободной игры, проходя дополнительные уровни. Дополнительные уровни Если вам хочется отдохнуть от основной кампании и безграничных возможностей свободной игры, вы можете пройти один из дополнительных уровней, в которых перед вами будут ставиться различные задачи, а на некоторых вы даже сможете управлять другими видами.
